A simple home-mixed layer feed at 17% protein

Example formula for layers in lay (100 kg)

• Ground corn 55 kg
• Soybean meal 46% 20 kg
• Fine rice bran 10 kg
• P55 fish meal 4 kg
• Limestone 8 kg
• Dicalcium phosphate 1.5 kg
• Salt 0.3 kg and layer premix 0.25 kg (top up to 100 kg with corn)

About 17% protein and 3.8% calcium

Layers need a lot of calcium for shells, which is why limestone is 8% of the mix. If shells are thin, add limestone before adding fish meal.
